FAQ
Our guides are local experts who constantly monitor weather forecasts and are trained to assess trail conditions. They have the authority to alter the itinerary, choose alternative routes, or turn back if conditions are deemed unsafe for the group. We prioritize your well-being above all else.
All of our guides are certified in First Aid and are equipped to help you on the spot. If the situation requires more assistance, we will immediately call for help and follow our pre-established emergency procedures.
Connectivity varies significantly depending on the expedition and its location. Sometimes you may have full phone signal while hiking, while other trips will take you to remote areas where you will be completely disconnected. We view this as an opportunity for a "digital detox" to better appreciate and immerse yourself in nature. Please check your specific trip description for details on expected connectivity.
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is tiered based on how far in advance you cancel. If you cancel more than 90 days before your trip start date, you will receive a full refund minus a non-refundable deposit. Cancellations within 60-90 days receive a partial refund, and cancellations within 60 days are non-refundable. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment.
Our expedition prices are designed to be as all-inclusive as possible yet leave you some flexibility once your trip begins. This typically includes all ground transportation during the trip, professional guides, and all necessary permits and park fees. Please check the specific trip page for a detailed list of inclusions and exclusions.
We recommend starting your physical preparation at least 1-2 months before an expedition. A well-rounded training plan should include:
Cardiovascular Fitness: Regular aerobic exercises like running, swimming, or cycling.
Strength Training: Focus on your legs and core, which are essential for carrying a pack and navigating varied terrain.
Hiking Practice: The most important training is simply to hike! Practice on hills and with a weighted backpack similar to the one you'll carry on the trip.
We believe in small-group travel for a more personal and manageable experience. Our expedition groups typically range from 8 to 16 participants, plus our dedicated team of guides and support staff. This allows for a strong group dynamic, ensures safety, and minimizes our environmental impact.
Absolutely! We welcome and encourage solo travellers. Our expeditions are a fantastic way to meet like-minded people who share a passion for adventure. Many of our customers are solo travellers, and they quickly become part of the group. If you're a solo traveller, you will be roomed with another solo traveller of the same gender. If you prefer a private room or tent, a single supplement fee applies.
