Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Poland – Welcome to the Tatra Mountains

Our adventure begins with an arrival in Kraków, where we’ll touch down in one of Poland’s most charming and historic cities. After landing, we’ll meet as a group and begin our scenic transfer to the mountain town of Zakopane – the gateway to the Tatra Mountains and our home for the trip.

Once we arrive in Zakopane, we’ll settle into our cosy chalet-style accommodation, surrounded by pine trees that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. This is the perfect place to unwind and immerse yourself in the mountain spirit. The evening is all about relaxing and recharging after a day of travel.

Day 2: Hike to Czerwone Wierchy + SPA Evening

Day 2 of our trip began with a rewarding hike to Czerwone Wierchy, a stunning massif in the Western Tatras. The name, meaning "Red Peaks," comes from the reddish-brown hues of the grasses and rocks that cover the slopes, especially in the autumn. The incredible 360-degree views from the top made every effort worthwhile.

Length: 17 KM | Elevation gain: 1300m | Time: 8h

After a challenging but rewarding hike to Czerwone Wierchy, we'll visit a local thermal spa to relax. The demanding trek will be followed by a soothing soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters, allowing us to unwind and recharge for the next day's adventures

Day 3: Hike to Kasprowy Wierch + Visit to the town

Day 3 promises another unforgettable adventure with a hike to Kasprowy Wierch. This iconic peak, a landmark of the Polish Tatras, is known for its incredible views and its famous cable car. Our hike will take us through diverse and beautiful landscapes, from verdant valleys to rugged, rocky terrain.

Length: 18 KM | Elevation gain: 1400m | Time: 8h

In the evening, we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture and cuisine of the nearby town. We'll take a leisurely stroll, soaking in the unique atmosphere and perhaps finding a charming restaurant to savour some authentic local food and reflect on a day of mountain adventure.

Day 4: Hike to Czarny Staw Gasienicowy + BBQ Party!

Day 4 will take us to the serene and stunning Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy, or the "Black Lake." This glacial lake is one of the most picturesque spots in the Tatras and a well-deserved reward for our hike. The trail begins in Kuźnice and leads us through the beautiful Gąsienicowa Valley. The first part of the journey takes us uphill through a forest, eventually opening up to sweeping views of the surrounding alpine landscape.

Length: 14 KM | Elevation gain: 700m | Time: 6h

After our hike, we'll head back to our accommodation for a well-deserved barbecue party. It will be the perfect way to unwind, share stories from our day's adventures, and enjoy a delicious meal together in a relaxed setting.

Day 5: Explore Kraków & Return Home

Our final morning in Zakopane dawned with a bittersweet beauty. After a last, fortifying breakfast, we bid farewell to the mountains and began our journey back to Kraków. This wil be our last chance to immerse ourselves in Poland's rich history and vibrant culture. We had a few hours to wander through the historic Old Town, revisit the bustling Main Square, or explore the majestic grounds of Wawel Castle.

It was also a final opportunity to indulge in some delicious local cuisine, whether it was the comforting taste of pierogi, a hearty bowl of bigos, or a sweet, cinnamon-infused chimney cake. As the afternoon approached, we made our way to the airport for our flight back, our journey ending with full hearts and tired legs.
